☀️ I Am Becoming A Pickle ☀️
Hi
This week consisted of two exchanges, making it a total of 8 exchanges for this transfer which is literally INSANE!! Service at house of mercy, and some fire lessons!
We had a really cool lesson with our friend Azaa on Sunday! We taught him more about the Holy Ghost and why it is so important to read scriptures, pray, and come to church! It was a powerful lesson! It was so cool to see the spirit change his heart within 10 minutes of teaching! During the lesson he thanked us for helping his spirit feel better, and helping his body feel better! He is literally changing his whole life because of Jesus Christ, and I am so blessed to be changed from it too! Please continue to pray for him to have strength to overcome addictions!
Okkk I don't usually like to talk about the time I've been on my mission because it makes me sad to know that it gets closer and closer to the end, but I hit 1 year today and have been pondering about how I have grown, and been changed! To be honest I feel like there are so many ways, but during my studies this week I listened to a talk that sums it up pretty well!
I am becoming a pickle…
Elder Bednar gave a general conference talk in April of 2007, titled “Ye must be born again”
In this talk he talks about the process cucumbers have to undergo to become pickles!
- preparing and cleansing
- Immersed in and saturated
- Purified and sealed
☆ “Proper preparing and cleaning are the first basic steps in the process of being born again.”
Throughout my mission I have been able to learn, and grow my faith about the teachings of this gospel! My faith has been strengthened and my desire to fully repent, and to repent daily has become stronger! I have been changed because my relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ has become stronger!
☆ “Just as a cucumber is transformed into a pickle as it is immersed in and saturated with salt brine, you and I are born again as we are absorbed by and in the gospel of Jesus Christ”
Little by little, line upon line my nature has gradually been changed throughout my mission as I have been absorbed by and in the gospel of Jesus Christ! I have come to know the atonement better and seen it change my life and other peoples lives! I have relied on my faith an uncountable amount of times to give me strength, confidence, and ability to do the Lord's work! I have a greater desire to do, and say what Jesus would!
☆“We progressively become purified and sanctified as you and I are washed in the blood of the Lamb, are born again, and receive the ordinances and honor our covenants.”
Of course I am human, I make mistakes, I sin but through Jesus and his atonement I continue to be purified and sanctified! I know that I have been forgiven of past sins because of the Holy Ghost and the desire I have to do and be better for my Savior!
I don't know if that makes sense but my mission has truly changed my life! It has helped me understand who I am as a daughter of God, and has strengthened my relationship with my Savior Jesus Christ! Boy has it been hard but it has changed my heart for the better!
Oh but I have SO much more learning to do…
I know Jesus Christ Lives! I know he loves you!
